I have a friend RJG who is newly engaged to a wonderful man. They are a magical love story, meeting only in passing to track down each other later in life. Taking a wild chance, he followed her to a new job 2,500 miles away after 2 months of dating. They are getting married in Central Park with tea at the Plaza for the reception. It seems love stories run in the family. Her fiancé's parents have been happily married for nearly 30 years. On their second date, over champagne, his father looked at his mother and asked her to marry him. Her response? "What took you so long?"
This is one kind of great love. Another is the great love of our country, and the passion to sacrifice self for the rest of us. And all we can say is Thank You.
